What will I be doing?

As one of our Junior Architects, you will work within the technology department as part of the architecture team, which is responsible for solution design and architecture delivery.

Working alongside your team, you will play a pivotal role in producing and delivering architectural solutions to the business.

Stakeholder engagement will be a key area for you, as you will be working with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to share knowledge and complex ideas, provide updates and influence and challenge when necessary.

Other key responsibilities:

  • Provide solution design and development services in support of prioritised business demand
  • Work with teams to design high-quality solutions that are innovative, stable and resilient; and conform to security and architectural standards and the software development lifecycle
  • Act as a representative in dealings with global architecture group and facilitates communication across global and regional teams
  • Maintain a good awareness of business strategy, new products, platforms, tools and technologies and keep abreast of the technical strategy of our suppliers

What are we looking for?

As this position sits within a architecture function, you will need to have a solid background in software development. So, if you are a Developer who is looking to step into architecture this may be for you.

You will be a collaborative person who enjoys working as part of a team and is able to work through challenges to provide the best solution to the business. Stakeholder engagement will be key as you will be dealing with stakeholders from all the business.

Some other key skills that you’ll have:

  • Significant experience of application development within a complex enterprise context and with architectures spanning multiple technologies (Java, Javascript with focus on UI technologies such as Angular JS, SQL & PL/SQL, RESTFul technologies, Relation DBs like Oracle, Linux (RHEL, Solaris)
  • Experience as an architect or a Senior Developer, in a role that requires significant architecture interaction
  • Experience in using and implementing agile methodologies
  • Excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to collect and analyse complex material and data and present it in accessible formats
  • Collaborates and communicates well, builds great working relationships, influences others, challenges effectively and responds well to challenge from others, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills
